Papercast is excited to announce that its cutting-edge e-paper passenger information technology is integral to Transdev Slezsko’s newly launched Smart Stops project. This initiative plays a key role in modernising public transport in major Czech cities, significantly improving the commuter experience.
The Smart Stops project, delivered by Papercast distributor Technocast, marks a significant milestone in Transdev’s broader strategy to enhance public transport services. Featuring Papercast’s 13″ solar-powered e-paper displays at high-traffic bus stops and major transport hubs, this project underscores the importance of real-time information in modern transit systems. By providing passengers with accurate, up-to-date information, these displays facilitate smoother, more predictable travel and help reduce wait times, enhancing overall commuter satisfaction.
Papercast’s technology stands out for its sustainability. The e-paper displays are entirely solar-powered, making them one of the most eco-friendly display solutions available. Their ultra-low power consumption aligns perfectly with the shift towards more sustainable public transport approaches, contributing to reduced energy use and lower carbon footprints.
Jakub Vyvial, CEO of Transdev Slezsko, commented: “The collaboration with Technocast and the integration of Papercast’s solar-powered e-paper technology reflect our commitment to enhancing public transport services. This project not only improves passenger communication with real-time updates but also supports our sustainability goals and operational excellence.”
Radek Novotný, CEO at Technocast, added: “This project is an excellent example of how Papercast’s advanced technology can drive innovation in public transport. It demonstrates our commitment to sustainable, high-performance solutions that set new standards for efficiency and user experience in the Czech Republic.”
This collaboration highlights Papercast’s dedication to advancing public transport infrastructure with innovative, sustainable solutions. The integration of e-paper displays is a testament to the growing adoption of eco-friendly technologies in modern transit systems.
